Manchester United defeated Schalke 0-2 in Germany and are closer to the Champions League final.
Schalke golie Manuel Neuer completed a superb performance, but that was not enough to avoid defeat. Ryan Giggs and Wayne Rooney scored and cleared their road to the Final. If they win the second leg, United will face the winner of the Real Madrid - Barcelona duel.
Spanish striker Raul Gonzalez admitted that Manchester United was superior. "Reaching the final is really hard now. But I find it nice to say good bye at the Old Trafford" said Raul.
Coach Rangnick remains optimistic. "This is football and anything could happen. Schalke have won as visitors before. And we have the best goalkeeper in the world" said the coach.
Alex Ferguson agrees with Rangnick. "This duel is not over. The triumph is important but we must be focused for the second leg if we want to reach the final" concluded Ferguson.
