"Chicharito" saved the day for Manchester United in 1-1 draw against Liverpool

The 2011/2012 season in the Premier League will not be an easy one for Manchester United. Rivals are stronger this time, and if Ferguson leaves some of his stars on the bench, bad things can happen.

Indeed, Ferguson sidelined Wayne Rooney, "Chicharito" Hernandez and Nani in order to allow players rotation. The starting team against Liverpool included then Park Ji-Sung, Danny Welbeck and Ashley Young in the frontline, but Kenny Dalglish's side was too dangerous to be underestimated.

Captain Steven Gerrard scored the first one for Liverpool, and even Lebron James - who was attending the game - celebrated with euphoria. After the 1-0, Ferguson sent on Rooney, Hernandez and Nani to save the situation.

And it was the mexican striker who scored the equalizer with a late header, at the 81st minute.

Dimitar Berbatov and Antonio Valencia scored great goals to secure United victory at the Old Trafford Stadium. We must also mention Portuguese star Nani, who was the most important player in this match.

The road to the title seems to be clear for Manchester United. And this result also helps for the confidence ahead of the Champions League quarterfinals against Chelsea.

Portuguese Nani claims to be one of the top players in the world

Luís Carlos Almeida da Cunha, also known as Nani, has become one of the most important players in the current Manchester United squad. His last goal against Tottenham Hotspurs, even though very rare, was vital to get the victory.

He claims that hard training and discipline is helping him improve his performance each game. "As a professional footballer, I'm close to being as complete as I can be, because y work hard to be one of the top players in the world. And I think I reached that level. I play for the best club in the world and my role here is as a decisive player, scoring goals or setting up and so the team can win" Nani said.

The portugues player also talks about self confidence: "You have to believe in yourself and believe in your abilities on the pitch. Big games are for big players".

But it seems like most fans just don't agree with him. In fact, many forums over the Internet are showing the opinion of Manchester United supporters, who say that the striker is a "joke" and "deluded".

Ferguson: Nani is only 23 and he is not for sale

Portugues forward Nani is having a hard time to become a usual starter at Manchester United squad but despite that and some trading rumours, Ferguson said that he is not for sale.

"I know that some big teams are interested, but there has not been any official offer, and we are not looking forward to sell him anyway. He is only 23. If someone came in for Nani in January we would tell him that he is going absolutely nowhere. Nani is a young boy and he wants to play - and he might get a chance against Spurs in the Carling Cup this week.

Alex Ferguson understands the pressure of having excellent strikers competing for the position: "He has suffered because Antonio Valencia's performances have been excellent and because Obertan has emerged as an interesting forward. He has enough talent and all he has to do is work harder and take his chance when it comes along."
